適用范圍： Covers the bevel gear systems applicable to spiral bevel gears.1.1 It covers recommended tooth proportions for generated spiral bevel gears for gear ratios in general use and the same are applicable for other manufacturing methods such as moulded and precision forged. Ratios outside the system can be designed according to the same general principles used in determining the system.1.2 It covers ratios having 12 or more number of teeth in the pinion.1.3 For ratios above 3:1, number of teeth used in pinion will be less than 12 for many applications. Low numbers of pinion teeth from 6 to 11 have special reduced depth tooth proportions to avoid undercoat as outlined in Appendix A. Automotive applications fall in this category.1.4 It stipulates standard normal pressure angle of 20° and standard mean spiral angle of 35°.1.5 System is generalized to include angular bevel gears.1.6 It covers the methods of calculation for gear blank dimensions and tooth elements.1.7 Practical considerations cover modules from 2 to 25.1.8 The standard presumes that size and type of gear has been established according to load rating requirement for the application.
