適用范圍：This British Standard describes two alternative methods for evaluating the buoyancy and flotation of craft vulnerable to swamping or sinking after sustaining localized impact damage to certain parts of their flotation elements: a) a physical test; and b) an equivalent calculation. This British Standard is applicable to boats with hull lengths of up to six metres that have been assessed (and categorized) for stability and buoyancy in accordance with BS EN ISO 12217-3:2002; options 1, 3, 6, 7, 8 or 9, and excludes: —aquatic toys; —canoes, kayaks, or other boats with a beam of less than 1.1 m; —inflatable and rigid-inflatable boats up to eight metres covered by BS EN ISO 6185; —personal watercraft covered by BS EN ISO 13590; —hydrofoils and hovercraft when operating in the dynamically supported mode; —submersibles. This British Standard does not include or evaluate the buoyancy or the effects on the flotation of craft in multiple or severe damage conditions.
